How to increase sales with your Trade Show Bags

Here are some tips about how to make the most effective use of your promotional bags.

1) Attract buyers, not just traffic
You've probably seen magicians, pretty models, display candy or drawings to win free prizes at the trade shows at which you've exhibited. They're all fine techniques to bring traffic into your booth. The problem is, they don't differentiate between those attendees who actually buy your products ... and those who simply grab free stuff.

Almost every exhibitor gives something away, whether it's a premium or literature about the products. So attendees need bags to hold the things they pick up. 2) Buy the biggest bag your budget will allow

If you buy a small bag, it will most likely be put into a larger one and not be seen or used again. It's worth it to spend a few cents more per bag, so your bag will be the one that attendees carry throughout the show floor, displaying your name. Don't forget to put your catalog or other descriptive literature into the bag as well.

3) Avoid paper bags for trade shows.
Laminated paper bagsThey may look pretty, but they're not as strong as plastic or laminated bags, and attendees do not generally use them after the show. The minimum quantity is 25,000 for 4-color process printing. With plastic bags, you can get 4-spot colors in quantities as low as 5,000 bags and 4-color process printing (reproducing photographs) on 10,000 bags. Laminated paper bags, made overseas, are available in 1,000 lots with your choice of braided cord handles, including over the shoulder styles, and feature beautiful 4-color process reproduction.

4) Don't wait till the last minute to buy your bags.

Most laminated bags are imported and may require 90 days or more lead-time until delivery. 5) Do not print a show name or booth number on your bags.
Though your trade show bag serves as billboard advertising for your company, it's not used as a directory on the show floor; there are listings for that. Plus you'll be able to use the bags again for other purposes, instead of just discarding any that may be left after your show, and you won't have to pay for new plates for each different show.

6) Buy in quantity
Figure out how many shows you go to each year, how many people attend each one and place an order for the whole year. You'll get the best price when you buy in quantity and you won't have to worry about missing a deadline.
